Need:
Mid-level LAMP Programmer with experience working with Open Source projects.
Responsibilities:
- Create custom add-ons for PHP- and Perl-based open source packages (Joomla, MediaWiki, LedgerSMB, LimeSurvey, SugarCRM, Word Press, Gallery2, Serendipity, etc).
- Debug existing systems to find where to change specific items.
- Work with communities to get patches accepted upstream.
- Custom development using a mix of technologies: PHP, Perl, MySQL, Postgres, Smarty, Javascript, XML, AJAX, MVC architectures.
- Assist project managers with estimating time necessary to accomplish specific tasks and providing technical detail for specifications/proposals.
- Work with others on a team with a mix of many small projects and a few large ones all with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Experience programming in a Linux environment.
- Demonstrated programming ability in PHP, Javascript or Perl, and interest in learning the others.
- Participation in an open source project.
- Self-directed, willing to work in a home-office environment as well as from home.
- Good communication skills, values good documentation.
- Ability and willingness to learn!
- Ability to accomplish tasks, review them and then redo them
differently as needed... The ability to change with a good attitude.
